Sila - The sounds that most of us know as Afrobeat are born out of the crowded streets of West African cities like Lagos, Accra and Abidjan. Combining the polyrhythmic percussion of indigenous West African music with Fenders and brass, Afrobeat trundled up from the underground to denounce dictatorship, corruption and oppression while still treating dancers and music fans to a seriously good time. Sila, hailing from the East African nation of Kenya, has the same mission, but named his own brand of music Afrofunk, an updated sound that incorporates more trace elements of hip-hop and soul.

Bobby Friction and Nihal Presents broadcasts every Wednesday night on BBC Radio 1, and is an award winning mix of the hottest Asian Beats and Flavas making them one of the most in-demand names on the scene. Bobby is busy working on his new album with Infinite Scale, remixing projects, and running club nights. Nihal can be found hosting various TV shows from the Saturday Show Extra for CBBC Digital to MTV Base, and was a regular host of Top of the Pops. State of Bengal - is one of the Key DJ/Producers to have emerged from the Cutting Edge British Asian Music scene in the late 90s that gave birth to the Asian Underground movement. His songs feature prominently on Talvin Singh's ground breaking 'Anokha', Sounds of the Asian Underground' album. SOB's reputation as one of the most innovative and pioneering artists is still held today as he continues to pushes the boundaries with his varied projects and albums. Look out for his soon to be released album Skip-ij.

DJ Deekline - A leading light on the UK breaks scene, Deekline's debut release on Rat Records - “Don’t Smoke”, went to number 11 in the charts. Deekline records on Botchit & Scarper and Southern Fried Records as well and has created some of the finest ragga breakbeat mash-ups. On the decks he’s a cutting and scratching wizard.

Navdeep is a multi-talented musician, tabla player, drummer, producer, dj & turntablist. Already having released his debut album Yaathra and with another album in the works Navdeep is one definitely to watch. His dj sets consist of his own self-produced tracks, unique remixes and live drumming as well as scratching to create a mesmerizing interactive experience!

The Sub Swara Residents Dhruva, Sunder, & Haj will perform a special live set, also on the bill is local NY Kollektiv resident DK. And Pictureman provides visual eye candy to accompany this auditory journey.

Karsh Kale (Six Degrees) - Karsh Kale is a multi-talented tabla player, drummer, dj, and producer. He has collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Sting, System of a Down's Serj Tankian, Moroccan master Hassan Hakmoun, Senegalese superstar Baaba Maal, and Ethiopian pop singer Gigi. He's a charter member of the super group Tabla Beat Science, playing and collaborating with Zakir Hussain, Ustad Sultan Khan and Bill Laswell. Cheb I Sabbah (Six Degrees) - Cheb I Sabbah is one of the earliest practitioners of the art of deejaying and began spinning in Paris in 1964. He plays all over the world and holds down his 14-year Outernational Mix residency at Underground SF every Wednesday here in SF. Throughout his illustrious career he has collaborated and performed with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and jazz trumpeter Don Cherry, Ornette Coleman, and Paul Horn. He has produced an album for the Sub Rosa label, as well as tracks for Asphodel and Meta, and remixes for Triloka and Cleopatra Records. Shabaaz Acoustic - Sukhawat Ali Khan and Riffat Sultana are the children of Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, who was universally recognized and acclaimed as the finest Pakistani Classical singer of his time. Their family represents a 500-year lineage of musicians hailing from the Sham Chaurasi Gharana (school of music). The two have recorded for numerous labels including Ark 21/Universal, Triloka/Mercury, Hearts of Space, City of Tribes, 6 Degrees and XDot25.
